Seven Card Poker Rules

7-stud is a poker variation where each player has their own cards, there are no community cards as in Texas Hold'em.

Each player starts with two down (hole) cards that only they can see, and one "up" card that everyone can see.

After each round of betting one more "up" card is dealt to each player for a total of 4 "up" cards. Then there is one final "hole" card down and then the final round of betting before all cards are shown.

Players make the best 5-card hand possilbe (esentially tossing out 2 of the cards at the end). Hand ranks are the same as any other poker game:

  • High Card (no pairs)
  • A Pair
  • Two Pair
  • Three of a Kind (trips or a set)
  • Stait (five in numeric order)
  • Flush (five of the same suit)
  • Full House (boat) (A set with a pair)
  • Four of Kind (quads)
  • Stait Flush

Aces can be played high or low.
